Views sought on gas failure lessons

Thursday, 25 February 2010

FAMILIES left without heating at Christmas because of a gas failure are being asked for their views on how the incident was handled.

Residents will be able to address a
Barnet Council committee set up to look into what happened.

The meeting will take place at 7pm next Thursday at Hendon Town Hall, in The Burroughs, Hendon.

Representatives from the utility companies involved have also been invited.

Those wishing to contribute can make written representations to the committee up until the day of the meeting. Two residents have already been invited to speak.

A second meeting will be staged to review the committee’s findings.

Committee chairman Brian Coleman said: “I want to hear from as many residents as possible so that we are fully equipped to speak with authority on lessons that need to be learned for the future.”

Email jeremy.williams@barnet.gov.uk or call 020 8359 2042 to get involved.
