Woman pedestrian dies in road horror in Barnet in the early hours of today (Saturday)

A 38-year-woman pedestrian was killed in a road collision in Finchley in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).

The tragedy occurred around 4.22 am on the Great North Road near the junction with Highview Gardens.

The emergency services attended, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe they know who the woman is , but are not releasing a name until formal identification has taken place.

The driver of the car-a silver Toyata Avensis-stopped at the scene. They have not been arrested.
