A group of singers in Edgware are calling for new members to join them - for the love of singing!
Members of The Edgware Community Chorus don’t sing for a performance - but for themselves.
They meet every fortnight at St Margaret’s Church, on Station Road, where they sing show tunes, light music and operetta.
Musical director Godfrey Manning said members didn’t need an audition or to be able to read music. He said: “We sing because we enjoy it! This is for you if you like the idea of your voice joining with others in chorus. It’s suitable even if you are new to singing or maybe you would like to start again after having gone a bit "rusty." You’ll find some of the more experienced voices will lead the way and help out the newcomers. We sing for ourselves - it’s not a performance.”
Session are accompanied by a piano (and occasional accordion). The chorus is not a church activity and is non-devotional.
The next meeting is at 3pm on June 26. For more information visit
