Police concern over missing woman last seen in Golders Green a month ago

Police have renewed appeals for any information as to the whereabouts of a women who is deaf and speech-impaired who hasn’t been seen for more than a month.

Gakleen Shahata, 39, was attending a church service with her family at Golders Green Parish Church, on West Heath Drive, on Sunday February 12. But she made her excuses and left, and has not been seen or heard from since.

She is described as British Sudanese, with long brown wavy hair, about 5ft 5ins tall and of heavy build.She also has mild learning difficulties.

At the time of his disappearance she was wearing a bright orange anorak, a white top and white jeans.

Ms Shahata, of Burne Street, Westminster, is said to understand basic British sign language and some Arabic.

A police spokesman said: “Her family and officers are increasingly concerned for Gakleen’s wellbeing and would urge anyone with information on her whereabouts to gt in touch.”
