A WOMAN has died after she was struck by a train in Enfield yesterday.
The woman – yet to be identified – was pronounced dead at the scene.
British Transport Police today (Monday) confirmed the fatality occurred at Brimsdown train station just after 1:30pm.
A spokeswoman said: “I can confirm it was a person struck by a train – we were called at 1.33pm to Brimsdown station and attended alongside colleagues from the ambulance service.
“Sadly a woman died at the scene.
“Her death is not believed to be suspicious and so a file has been prepared for the coroner.”
The station was closed for two hours and no trains were running in either direction.
Police investigating, taped off the area.
Enfield residents on Facebook page: We Love Our Highway asked people to “spare a thought if traffic bad near Brimsdown....being told someone there is dead....in front of a train.”
