Blaze in Whetstone workshop is under investigation

MYSTERY surrounds the cause of blaze at a derelict workshop which took 35 firefighters almost four hours to bring under control.

The blaze, on Allum Way, Whetstone, broke out shortly before 8.30am on Saturday (February 11) and caused damage to the ground floor, first floor and roof of the property.

Six fire engines attended the scene along with crews from Barnet, Finchley, Southgate and Hendon fire stations.

A spokesman for London Fire Brigade said the cause of the fire was under investigation.
