Woman arrested after 'hit-and-run' smash on A5 near Colindale

A DRIVER was arrested last night following a hit-and-run collision on the A5 Edgware Road, near Colindale, which has left a pedestrian fighting for his life.

The 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of the collision, which happened in The Hyde area at approximately 11.15pm on Saturday (February 12).

The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, was taken to a central London hospital where his injuries are described as life threatening.

Meanwhile, officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collison which is said to have involved a black Audi car.The woman has been released on bail to a date in mid April.
